Yaws is a Gambian clothing brand established in 2007 by Ms. Awa O.B Conateh Creative Director of the Yaws brand. Although Awa lived and studied fashion design abroad, she is currently based in The Gambia and celebrates her strong African heritage through her designs. A vibrant strong woman, her passion to develop arts and culture is reflected in her work. Awa always maintains her concepts; a nod to her heritage- this is who I am and "I cannot be anyone else other than myself"

Yaws Creations covers projects in art, fashion, and interiors. Inspired by her African heritage and influenced by nature and everyday way of life, founder and creative director- Yawa Conateh launched the Yaws Fashion Collection in 2007, with items for men and women using African prints and handmade materials.
