The Kemet Development association has launched since the beginning of 2017, the creation of a sewing training center in Cotonou in Benin. This project aims to help disadvantaged and unemployed young people in the capital, Cotonou, by passing on sewing and accounting training. The training and learning of young adults (boys and girls) and underprivileged or out-of-school young people emphasizing self-care and support of a supervisor as well as cultural and economic development are the main objectives of this project and present for this category of the population one of the only means to take charge of themselves and integrate into society. This project is done in partnership with the clothing brand Orisha, partner of the project. Orisha is a young pan-African clothing brand whose products are sold in Europe. The idea is to be able to relocate some of the brand's production in Africa. Benin, because of the authenticity of its culture, represents a perfect geographical area. This approach will enhance the "Made In Africa" label via the "Orisha Academy" training center. A first has already been realized during the participation of the association Kemet Development in the "Bundestreffen", a national meeting of blacks living in Germany during a colorful fashion show.
