APPEL Sponsoring Association for Education and Freedom Founded in 1991 by a group of college professors, APPEL is a type-1901 association. Its purpose is to enable the schooling of very disadvantaged children in the Sahel and to help Artisans from West Africa to sell their productions. APPEL finances the operation of the Dédougou school in Burkina Faso since 2003, which was entirely created by APPEL and manages this school alone. The resources of our association come from annual membership dues and our events organized in the Greater East region of France. In order to improve the daily life and life of craftsmen in Africa and for the running costs of the Association, we have developed a shop based on ethical trade, which offers handicrafts mainly from West Africa.
