Baule cloth, named after the Baule people, is a handmade textile from Cote D’Ivoire (Ivory Coast of Africa). Each cloth is created from locally grown cotton, dyed with organic materials, and sunshine. It is then spun, and woven by a Master Baule Weaver, a title that takes about ten years to earn. Each textile is carefully crafted on the loom of an expert artisan; each piece is a work of art.
