Add 2-3 inches to the chest and waist measurements for ease of movement.

If the Agbada is going to be lined, add an additional 1-2 inches to all of the measurements. For visual understanding

Shirt:

Chest: Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, just under your armpits. Keep the tape snug but not tight.

Shoulder width: Measure from the edge of one shoulder bone to the other across the back.

Sleeve length: Bend your arm slightly at the elbow. Start at the center of your neck at the back, down along the shoulder seam, past your elbow to the desired wrist bone location.

Body length: Stand tall and measure from the base of your neck at the back, down the center of your front to the desired length of the shirt.

Pants:

Waist: Same as above, measure around your natural waistline.

Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, usually around 8-10 inches below your waist.

Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam down the inside leg to the desired ankle bone location.

Outseam (optional): Measure from the waist seam down the outside of the leg to the desired hem.

Additional tips:
If you have specific preferences for sleeve cuff width or pant leg opening, note those measurements as well.
Consider your build and desired fit (loose, tailored, etc.) when determining measurements.
If you're unsure about any measurements, err on the side of slightly larger. It's easier to have clothes altered to be smaller than bigger.
If you're buying online, refer to the seller's size chart and compare it to your measurements.
For a traditional kaftan fit, focus on chest and shoulder measurements as the flowy nature allows for flexibility in waist and hip.
